Cho Ku Rei
“Cho Ku Rei (pronounced ‘cho-koo-ray’) literally means ‘Put the power here’ or ‘Increase the power.’ I think of it as an ‘on’ switch for Reiki. Traditional Japanese Reiki Masters translate this symbol to mean ‘Focus.’ Practitioners often say its name silently before all uses of Reiki, or draw it on their hands before all sessions. I do this sometimes, but not always. Cho Ku Rei increases the power and flow of Reiki whenever used. It can be drawn with the spiral counterclockwise, its original form, or clockwise.
